1. Ongoing Projects

CREST II
TITLE: Coarse Grain Reconfigurable Embedded Systems Technology–(CREST) II – Applications
DURATION: 01/04/2016 – Till Date
COLLABORATORS: KTH Sweden, IIT Delhi, IISC, Morphing Machines
FUNDING AGENCIES: Vinnova, Sweden; DST, India
DESCRIPTION: Objective of this project is to implement two industrial embedded systems applications using Coarse Grain Reconfigurable Architecture and Methodology developed by the collaborating institutes. The first application is a high performance control loop in a digital pre-distortion based linearization system for power amplifiers and the second is a computer vision basedprocessing system for building next generation Driver Assists for automobiles. A chip will be manufactured as part of the project.
Reactive Programming for REDEFINE
TITLE: Reactive programming and compilation for the REDEFINE manycore
DURATION:
COLLABORATORS: IISC, INRIA, Morphing Machines, Safran
FUNDING AGENCY: CEFIPRA
DESCRIPTION: Modern aircrafts both with piston and jet engines are supported by a Full Authority Digital Engine (or Electronics) Control System, typically consisting of a digital computer. Such a system is commonly referred to as FADEC. A FADEC works by receiving multiple input variables of the current flight condition including air density, throttle lever position, engine temperatures, engine pressures, and many other parameters. The objective of the project is to realize a FADEC on REDEFINE, a massively parallel, reconfigurable manycore system for safety criticality. To provide the expected levels of safety, by design, the project will rely on synchronous reactive programming, and extend it to enable automatic parallelization and mapping of the FADEC to the REDEFINE architecture.
